FINN -  Border Collie

This lovely pup is one of our UK rescue dogs. Sadly his previous family found themselves unable to care for Finn any longer and with a heavy heart decided to find a new home for him. This is how this lovely boy ended up in our care. He has been health checked, neutered and received his assessment. All he needs now is his very own forever home.

Finn is currently home fostered in Cornwall (near Launceston).

Size: medium size petite collie
Sex: male
Age: 8 months old (DOB 01.07.2021)
Neutered: yes
Vaccinated: yes
Microchipped: yes
Child friendly: yes, but would prefer a home with older or no children
Dog friendly:  ok with dogs but needs to be introduced slowly. Finn is wary at first until he feels they are friendly which is when he gains confidence. Regular socialization and confidence building will help Finn over this insecurity.
Cat friendly: not tested
House trained: yes
Temperament/Behaviour/Training needs:
Finn is full of young playful energy and fun. Not as highly strung as some border collies are which is nice.
He is a very affectionate dog and LOVES cuddles.
Finn is eager to please and easy to train (reward based training).
Really good on the long lead through sheep field and is totally ignoring them (and cars) low chase drive so far.
Crate trained.
Amazing sit and recall.
He can be left on his own for a few hours if needs be, longest he’s been left through the day was about 5 hrs once when his foster mum had to drive to Bristol and he was ok. When he is being left Finn cries (quite dramatically) for about 5 minutes and is then fine.
He eats anything and everything, he’s had 3 different dog meats and several different kibble and cheese and dog treats.
He walks ok on the lead, great on the long lead never goes to the end.
He travels well in the car unless he is stressed (then he throws up).

Ideal Home:
Finn is a happy and adaptable boy. He would prefer a semi rural or rural home with someone who can give him lots of time and attention. Being a collie, part of his natural language is the occasional ankle nipping. So maybe not a home with young children. Ideally a home with collie experience who knows what border collies are about and who can meet his needs.

If you think that your home would be right for young Finn and you can give him what he needs to be happy, please complete an application form as a first step. But please bear in mind that I am advertised on other sites too and we hope you understand that there may be more than one application to his name by the time you have completed yours. You are more than welcome to ask in advance of course.

Please enjoy the photos and video below.

If you would like to support dogs like Finn we would be ever so grateful. Your donation will help so much and every penny counts.

Thank you so much ~ Love, Finn ♥
