Stella' story is that of many dogs who come to live in the Bark Ark shelter where they are waiting to get picked and more often than not they stay in there for years if not until the end of their life. She was picked up as a stray from the local area and ended up at Bark Ark where she spent quite a few years already. The shelter owner showed us Stella as we are real fans of her breed. Stella is a Barak Hound who usually have lovely kind temperaments. They are a hound type who are used for hunting which means they generally love to chase and are often unsuitable to live with cats for example. We have rehomed two Barak Hounds from the same shelter which are absolutely delightful dogs and both are extremely happy adoptions.

The photos below show Stella at the time of her rescue, inside the shelter and when she was taken out in readiness for travel to the UK.

If you would be in the position to offer a foster home until adoption that would amazing and we would love to hear from you. Or if you have fallen in love with Stella and would like to adopt her please don't hesitate to get in touch. Sadly, at this stage, we are unable to accept any applications from families with young children for either foster or adoption. We would be looking for a home with no children or children 16+ with dog experience. The reason for this is that Stella is yet unknown to us and it would be irresponsible to take a risk. Thank you for understanding.

If you would like to apply for giving a forever home please complete an application form as a first step.

Please bear in mind that our dogs are shown on other sites too and we hope that you understand that there may be more than one application to their name by the time you have completed yours.

Whether you are wanting to foster or adopt, we would like to ask you to read our information about how to settle in your new rescue dog which is especially important for overseas dogs (see button below) and make sure that your life style allows for the time and patience these wonderful dogs may need. Please rest assured that we will support you every step of the way.

Or if you would like to support our shelter dog rescue a bit I would be ever so grateful. If you could mark your kind giving with ‘shelter dogs’ then your funds will be put towards their costs either abroad or at Paws2Freedom.

Thank you so much ~ Love, Stella ♥
